A paragon of deep iridescence, the labradorite gemstone is a crystal of transformation as well as beauty. Regarded as The Dreamer's Stone, it is linked to our Third Eye and Crown Chakras, allowing us to connect with our higher selves. It promotes self-discovery and enhances our energies, while its unexpected flashes of brilliance remind us that there is always light, even when we see or feel darkness.
In the folklore of Inuit culture, labradorite is said to have fallen from the Northern Lights - and it's easy to see why: its colourful iridescence certainly echoes the brilliance of the Aurora Borealis. Shimmers of indigo, teal and green evoke a deep sea; light refraction between its layers break up these mystical depths, with flashes of bright blue or even gold. This magic is thought awaken our intuition as well as our imagination.
Labradorite supports new beginnings and the setting of intentions, which is why it is regarded as a powerful stone of the New Moon. We therefore chose to showcase its qualities in our New Moon Collection; both a symbol of renewal, and a visual representation of the dark night sky - when the moon is not visible.
